The Creston Valley Food Hub is a joint project of the Creston Valley Chamber of Commerce, and the Creston Valley Food Action Coalition. Funding support provided, in part, by the BC Government’s Buy Local Program; delivered by the Investment Agriculture Foundation of BC with funding from the BC Ministry of Agriculture. Funding support also provided, in part, by the Regional District of Central Kootenay. For more info on the sites and activities available in the Creston Valley click here.

Much of the project, including the web-design, the majority of the articles, and consultation with restaurants, businesses, and farms, has been completed by Skimmerhorn Consulting, with help from local programmer extraordinaire Jack Bates in creating the web-map and filterable database.

The project is designed to increase local and tourist demand for local food through a multi-faceted approach. The Farm Fresh Guide provides a place for potential customers, businesses, and restaurant owners to discover some of the tastiest farm products to be found anywhere in the world. Local food articles are being written to help showcase some of the best food the Creston Valley has to offer and, of course, the people that grow it. Check by on a weekly basis and you will have access to a truly unique perspective on local food, authored by local residents and food lovers. We are also consulting with local restaurants to provide ways for customers to ask whats local, and provide some details about where the food on their plates originated.

If you are looking to register your farm or business for the guide click here. It’s totally free, and even smaller farms are encouraged to join up.
